Reviewed by MartinHafer 10 / 10 Brilliantly inventive.and yet another wonderful film from Duncan Jones.ĭuring the last week, I've become a HUGE fan of Duncan Jones. All in all, an excellent film and a favourite of mine this year. Jeffrey Wright tries a little too hard, but Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga are solid as rocks. The acting is great, Jake Gyllanhaal balances vulnerability and muscle-bound action expertly. The writing is outstanding, thoughtful with the odd bit of droll humour and the issues of loss and responsibility give it some emotional weight as well, and the story benefits from an interesting idea, is compelling and has enough suspense and tautness to satisfy. Duncan Jones(director of the wonderful Moon) does a superb job directing, and the film looks great with atmospheric cinematography and lighting. It is a suspenseful, compelling and very well done thriller and almost perfect.

Source Code is not quite my favourite of 2011, but it is close. There have been fantastic films, like Tree of Life and some pretty bad films too like Battle:Los Angeles. Reviewed by TheLittleSongbird 9 / 10 Another favourite of mine this year.

More importantly, he must identify the bomber as another bombing is expected later that day. Those in charge of the program explain to him that there is a bomb on the train, and that he must locate it. He occupies the body of teacher going to work on that train and is confused as to what he is doing or why he is there as his last memory is of flying his helicopter on a combat mission in Afghanistan. That morning, a bomb exploded on a commuter train just outside Chicago. The only catch is can only be there for 8 minutes at any given time. Army Captain Colter Stevens finds himself working on a special program where his consciousness can be inserted into another human being.
